Body of second S Korean hostage found

Ghazni, Afghanistan: Police in central Afghanistan at daybreak on Tuesday discovered the body of a second South Korean hostage slain by the Taliban, officials said.

The second victim has been identifies as 29-year-old Shim Sung-min.

The victim's body, wearing Western clothing and glasses, was found on the side of the road in the village of Arizo Kalley in Andar District, some 10 kilometers west of Ghazni city, said Abdul Rahim Deciwal, the chief administrator in the area.

A Taliban spokesman told some media outlets that a man named “Sung Sin" was shot to death at 8:30 a.m. Monday (Afghan time) because the Afghan government did not heed the deadline for swapping the hostages for Taliban prisoners.

Police lifted his body from the side of the road, put it on a blanket and into the back of a waiting police truck. His face was covered in blood, as was the ground beneath him.
