KOZHUKKATTA ::::Different recipe
Ingredients
Rice powder - 1 cup
Cumin seeds(Jeerakam) - 1/2 tsp
Cumin powder - 1/4 tsp (optional)
Grated coconut - 1/4 cup
Salt - As reqd
Water for boiling and mixing
For seasoning:-
Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
Dry red chillis(Kollamulaku) - 2 nos
Curry leaves - 1 sprig
Oil - 1 tbsp
Preparation Method
1)Crush the cumin seeds with a rolling pin.
2)Mix together rice powder, cumin seeds, cumin powder and coconut adding water to the constituency of a chapati dough.
:- Add water slowly , because the dough should be thick.
3)Make oval shaped balls with hand.
4)Heat water (5 cups) in a large pan.
5)When it starts boiling, drop the balls into the water.
:- You can reduce the heat little bit after dropping all the balls.
6)After 20 mins, remove kozhukkattas from water.
:- Serve with chutney.
:- You can also serve in another way. Cut each kozhukkattas into small pieces. Heat oil and splutter mustard seeds, dry red chillies,curry leaves. Add kozhukkata pieces and saute for 5 seconds. Turn off the heat and then serve.
